My 7 Coolest Hybrid Animals Ever

7. Cama
A mix between a Camel and Llama. Cama is woolier than a camel but much sturdier than a llama. Presumeably it can also spit twice the distance than a regular llama. This breed is is what happened when the scientist in the Dubai's Camel Reproduction Center (they have a center for reproducing camels?) got bored of the same ol' same ol' camel-on-camel action. So they wonder what kinda of animal would a two species that has been developing separately for 30 million years create? So they venture of to the Andes, kidnapped one of the resident llamas and brought it to Dubai to go through some no-doubt awkward artificial insemination. Why artificial? Because the mom a is a 200 kgs llama and the dad is a camel that is 5 times her size. That would be like watching a horror movie. Not to mention the depression the llama would have after such an ordeal.  After the whole shenanigans, three Camas was born to this world. And unlike the other hybrids, they are not sterile. So expect more Camas in the future people.

6. Savannah Cat

Want a big cat that you can cuddle? Want to take it out for a stroll and enjoy the awe of the people around you? Want to do it without being clawed to death? Well now you can, because now there is a breed of cat called the Savannah Cat. It's a mix between an African Serval (left) and your regular house cat (duh!).  This particular cat breed is huge for its kind but is completely tame. While a real big cat would slap your face to next week the moment it saw you, this one is totally friendly to all beings.  First introduced in 1986 by cat breeder Judee Frank, it was later accepted as a new registered breed in 2001, allowing you who have crazy cat fantasies to finally put a silly hat on a jungle cat's head.

5. Wolphin

No. It's not a Wolf and a Dolphin! It's a mix between a False Killer Whale and a Bottlenose Dolphin.  False Killer Whale DO exist. They are NOT fake whales, they are  REAL whales but not really killers, i guess (i just find out about their existence when writing this blog!). What can i say about it... other than it look just exactly like both sides of its parent. Oh, and they're very rare... there's two in The Orlando Sea Park, but i think that's about it.

4. Lipard

                           +

As the picture suggested, a Lipard came drom a leopard mom and a lion dad. The result is a slightly confused-looking bigass cat with awkward manes. Mating between these two species is tricky because, just like the Camel and Llama, a Lion is significantly bigger than the leopard. Creepy, but possible. It was first documented in a Vienna Zoo in 1951 but a better documented, more natural mating took place in Florence Italy in 1982.  A man named Franco Stenta owned several tame big cats; 2 tigers, 2 lions, and a leopardess. This unlikely romance occured in the coutyard of Mr. Stenta's Paper factory. The cub was born on the 27th of August 1982, weighing roughly like a leopard cub and was mistakenly identified by Mr. Stenta who initially thought it was a daring domestic cat who strays to the cages of the big cats. Boy was he surprised! His reaction? Sold the cat when it's 5 months old and set out to breed some more!

3. Zonkey

A Zonkey is a mix between a Zebra stallion and a female Donkey. At first you'd think, "oh, yeah, that make sense. They're kinda look alike". But have you ever think, in your wildest dreams, that it would look like this..?

What the!? Is that a pony wearing pantyhos!? What's with the stripes ending all of a sudden like that in the thigh!? Is this guy real? Yes it is, and do expect more of them, and their mixed cousins, in the future because a Zebra, both male and female,  will mate with any of their horsey cousins. The result is a mix of peculiar, yet cute breeds like a Zorse (zebra and horse) and Zony (zebra and pony). They also have an awesome nickname : Zebrass!

2. Sarloos Wolfhound.

Sarloos Wolfhound was first breed by a dutchman named Leendert Sarloos who wanted to have a wolf-ish looking dog. Thus the name Sarloos Wolfhound (life was simple back then). He wanted to have a dog that looked crazily scary, it would deter even the most determined postman,  but is totally tame that it won't eat your face. So he went to get himself a Mackenzie Valley Wolf and combine it with a German Shepherd. This seemingly impossible endeavour apparently worked out well. Who would've thought that mixing the genes of the scariest wolf and the scariest dog could actually produce a tame, friendly wolf-faced dog? i didn't!

1. Liger

A Liger is combination of a Lion and a Tigress. This spectacular mating between the king and queen of the jungle produced the Caesar of the Cats. A Liger is the biggest cat in the world, weighing in around 400 kilograms. This is because a lion have something called the growth gene. In a normal lion-to-lion mating, this gigantism cannot occur because the lioness have the growth inhibitor gene that acts as the anti of the growth gene. Tigress don't have this, allowing the Liger offspring to experience growth far more in their growing years compared to both parents and took more time in reaching their full adult size. Once they do though, you can not hope of pissing them off and walk away with your limbs intact.
